Independent House Vs Apartment - Bangalore

When anyone thinks about their “dream house”, most times they picture Independent villa in Bangalore around some lush greenery and a tiny yard for the kids to play. The only problem being you aren’t going to find any “greenery” let alone lush within the city premises particularly. Although we all know that in the city’s hustle and bustle an apartment seems like a saner choice to go by.

Both Independent house and an apartment having their own pros and cons, it get’s hard to put a finger on. On the other hand with the increasing amount of the vertical expansion and the competitiveness to deliver luxury, the amount of basic amenities aren’t the only things that are provided when it comes to an apartment. These days a typical apartment or a gated complex comes with clubs, gardens, plenty space for the kids to play, services like plumber, electricians are available on call from the society itself. These perks are self levied when it comes to an independent house, you’d have to get access to external clubs and sports facilities, and services such as electricians, plumbers etc would need to be called for personally at the time of need. One of the prime advantages of an apartment is security for your family, which is given and available 24*7 when it comes to an apartment in a gated community. Whereas in an independent house security is a concern and if you want to keep a watchman or a gate keeper it will come at its own significant cost. 

An independent house provides you a great degree of freedom and the ability to design your home the way you want. When it comes to an independent apartment there is basically no freedom to make modifications to the exteriors of your home besides there is limited space to develop interests such as gardening, one might even have to take special permission from the housing society to keep potted plants. The rules are pretty stern since every single individuals needs have to be catered in a society. But when it comes to an independent housing society you are the maker and breaker of rules, no one’s going to ask you questions of whys and why not’s . You can remodels and refurbish your villa the way you want and not seek permission to do so from any authorities. Besides you can switch apartments as per your convenience if need be, but whereas once you’ve taken an independent house your ground base cannot be switched as easily as when in an apartment. Plus it’s would be both time and finance consuming in the first place.

On the plus side apartments, you’d never would have to have any war of words with your neighbours for your parking space since parking slots are allotted and marked out specifically for each and every apartment. Wherein in an independent house the road parallel is the only option to park your vehicle and keeping your “spot” intact would be a tough task to follow, unless you are smart enough to create a mini parking lot for yourself in your independent house then that could work wonders for you.

Hence the best option to both the independent house and an apartment is to get an Independent Villas in Bangalore since that get you all the space you want both initially and them some to develop in the future as per your requirements. Although again security concern arises, hence putting up an option of getting an independent villa in Bangalore in a gated residential colonies which give you both the services that an apartment provides and also a greater degree of freedom similar to that of an independent  house.

But see to it that you do ask yourself a few questions before taking this decision in the first place! Keeping aside the cost factor for a minute, think to yourself are you buying in a city to which you have resettled, because normally in this case we would have very few family members around. The stage of your life i.e single, married without kids yet, having very young kids, having teens who demands their private room, retired. Or if you have a job like my husband which may require you to travel frequently or which would involve transfer from current location every few years or you are likely to look for careers in other cities in the future. 

Each and every options has its own pros and cons, be it an apartment, an independent house, or an Independent villas in Bangalore. Either way one has to take the decision keeping in mind the prime factors and good and bad of all the options.
